This key concept is crucial to the outcomes of the creative individual as well as the initiatives of their creative process, in that it defines the withstanding differential against which one upholds all that is considered as their own intellectual property and that which has been determined as the desired outcome of such intellectual properties.
In today's modern age, information on the internet is being prioritized differently. Websites like HubPages are popping up all over the place and hosting independently created content. These websites thrive by promoting affiliate marketing and affiliate marketing thrives by hosting, well, affiliates... So inevitably, we have tons of random information being pushed around by money. It only makes sense that said information be concise, accurate, and devoted in origin to providing quality content to the community. Information, coupled with sound perspectives, along with a demonstrated rationale...is all it takes to carefully present good ideas.
From this perspective alone it is very important to appreciate the notion of Quality versus Quantity.
Every independent writer who has entered into the silent contract of providing a trusted service through content writing needs to understand the dire importance of this concept.
Quality versus Quantity.
What does this mean for me?
You might be wondering, since this all sounds so cliche... "Exactly what does this entail for me?"
The answer to this question is quite simple really, but to fully understand it's implications we must examine our own creative ambitions.
It is most important to realize why you are here. Are you an observer or are you the observed?
Observers present factual and unbiased information to other observers in an attempt to promulgate the existence of useful and contextual applications for truisms both known and tested through scientific methods and historical representation.
The Observed often present absurdist displays of opinions that have been formed as the result of biased personal experiences. The title of such folk being derived from the boisterous and ignorant attention they draw to themselves.
Those who come to the independent writing scene seeking legitimate revenue need be warned that the mature consensus has no patience for the frivolities of a selfish writer. Affiliate marketing is not a scam, it's not necessarily a game either. Pages like HubPages.com provide a unique venue from which creative and insightful individuals can communicate and interact with the world. This offers presents a legitimate resource to pioneer a life of financial independence. .
People who are simply piling up shoddy Hubs to accrue frivolous revenue under the notion of Quantity versus Quality, are quite ignorant, really. They are greatly responsible for funding the ignorance of the general collective. This is not slander, it is actually quite a proven fact. It prevails as the major reason why so many people out there have published Hubs that just aren't getting views or generating any revenue through Google.
It's because they aim to satisfy a very marginal collective. Their intended goal is seemingly downsized by childish dreams to get rich quick and the innate selfishness that exists at the core directive of any marketing scheme.
Somehow, the point has potentially been lost on us. Before you know it, millions and millions of people are sending out as much information as possible and not caring about the integrity of their material. So many people are just hoping that a few clicks roll off each of their articles from time to time. A few clicks here, a few clicks there...before you know it you'll be rich, right? Who cares if there is any real point to your writing, as long as you're making money.
Wrong.
Because, people are still paying for a service...and if every Joe Schmoe had it their way, that service would be both cheap and easy to manufacture in bulk. Quality content is constantly being reviewed and amended as necessary. Quality content capitalizes on relevant social commodities and responds professionally to the current topics in social media.
There is a lot more involved in creating a thriving blog-o-sphere or providing a viable niche-writing/affiliate-marketed service than simply putting out an excess of content. Google Adsense and other affiliate programs require persistent and integral interaction with these marketing platforms. This is yet another aspect of quality control
Sites such as HubPages.com, have become recognized as novel in this aspect; providing powerfully insightful articles from unique individuals in a setting that competitively boasts amonsgt the general collective for the top position of most useful or highest-rated; generally deduced on a basis of relevance or the feasible applications of contained information. Hence the term, content writing.
Understanding Quality versus Quantity comes down to understanding yourself. What are some of the things that matter most to you? What are some of the fundamental and intangible concepts that you hold dear to the quintessential functioning of your everyday life? It comes down to realizing and accepting whether or not your content is worth paying for. Suffice it all to self-validation.
This is where the quality of your content comes from. It comes from your drives, your motivation to create informationally-sound material. Thus it is the ultimate goal of a good writer to put forth substance which can only be expounded upon, not material which can retracted from. Producing content that is reader-driven and writer-ordained --content that seeks to bridge the gap between you and the rest of the world -- will be cornerstone to your creative and financial success.
Quality versus Quantity means providing a service in everything that you do. It's the difference between putting out one national beacon of distress for a crisis or trying to dispatch 20 individual, local beacons simultaneously and hoping to have them all relay the same general message. It's about taking local effects to a global venue while using unique, individual parameters to maintain their sanctity.
Quality versus Quantity begins with the writer and ends with the writer. It sums up all of the ambitions and directives of the creative individual into one focused initiative: in providing a dedicated and reliable service to individual readers.

This is so true. It is funny, because when people write for newspaper, they will send me ten half-written articles, in hopes one will get published. It is the same on here, I can see in some cases. I still maintain my viewpoint that anyone can become a great writer, but it takes a devotion to each piece, you are very right!
